I know I bang on about it a lot, but whilst I'm doing my diet I'm also doing a blog where I cook every challenge on the Great British Bake Off. That blog is here... It's called 'Return Of the Living Bread' a title which hilariously combines baking with my love of genre television, films and books. It was called 'Loaf and Monsters' for a bit. This hilariously combines baking with my love of Doctor Who and is a bit more niche.
Baked goods are just about the worst food when you are on a diet. For example, one sixteenth of one of today's efforts...
...worked out at 310 kcal. One sixteenth! This...
...which looks blooming sad on that plate all alone without another eighth of the cake to go with it.
And then I made these...
...which I've been feeling good about because they are only 270kcal apiece and are considerably bigger than 1/16th of a cake.
So I ate two of them.
Which leaves me with 160 kcal to go towards dinner.
I have not achieved this. Dinner is 300kcal.
On the plus side, to make up for all the baking I did some manly moving of one and a half tonnes of logs this afternoon. Grrrr! So I've probably got a few calories in credit.
Maybe just another bit of cake?
