I'm hoping that a picture of a cat (Flora) and money will draw some suckers...sorry, sponsors... in.
The money is sponsorship money provided by my most excellent colleagues Steph Pilcher (and her mum) and Soo Ming. Are they not marvellous specimens of humanity. And can I just say that I genuinely don't know if I've ever actually seen a £50 note before - I have led a sheltered life - and had to ask if it was real. Soo Ming told me she had printed it out the night before.
Some time ago I said that if I raised over £250 I would set my target lower. I didn't say how much lower, which is good, as I was slightly concerned that I may have said a stone lower and that would be very optimistic.
With this immense and very much appreciated surge in sponsorship, and including the £19 from my Jack Skellington cake, and even before Gift Aid, I have exceeded £250, and so the time has come for a decision.
Unofficially, for now, I'm lowering my goal to 14 stone 7lbs. I'm going to leave the target on the website for now because I've got my own unofficial goal that when I reach 15 stone I'm going to eat a massive cheese sandwich. But if my sponsorship can reach £350 (before Gift Aid) I will make my cheese sandwich goal 14 stone and 7lbs.
By the way, anyone who saw my cheese sandwich today - that was not a massive cheese sandwich!
