As I'm sure you know, I work for the UK's leading veterinary charity. This is NOT the RSPCA despite what you might think given their high profile. If you go to my sponsorship page, and why wouldn't you, you will see that I am raising money by losing weight. The name of the UK's leading veterinary charity can be found there.
No, not Shelter, though I would be very happy if you would sponsor me to raise money for them also.
PR lady said to me, ' We've been contacted by a men's running magazine. They want to do case studies of men who have lost weight by running. Is running part of your weight loss regime?'
How much did I want to be featured in a magazine?
'Not really,' I said.
But how much did I want to be in the magazine?
'I started running last week, though,' I said hesitantly. 'Do you think that would be enough for them?'
'Hmmm...' PR lady said.
'And a couple of years ago I was running a lot. But then my feet started hurting. Do you think that would be the kind of thing they want?'
'I'm intending to carry on running so I could let you know in about a month if it's helping...'
'Hmmm...the journalist needs the story by Tuesday this week.'
'Ok,' I said, 'I'm probably not going to have that many running anecdotes by then that don't involve feet that hurt.'
'We'll let you know,' she said.
No media stardom for me.
