I'm not for a moment suggesting that the people of Cornwall indulge in calorie counting in a special way, though I'm guessing that Cornish pasties eaten within the boundaries of Cornwall are exempt from calories under International Food Law. Just as the Melton Mowbray pie is if eaten within earshot of Melton Mowbray cows and Victoria sponge if eaten whilst riding a barrel over the Victoria Falls.
Or it will all kick off.
While I'm doing the sums, here is a picture of these lovely Cornish pasties as cooked by Paul Hollywood...
One thousand calories!!!!!
Oh my god!
Not only that but one thousand three hundred calories!!!!!!
In fact, one thousand three hundred and sixty calories!!!!!
I am now altering the recipe. It makes 12 mini Cornish pasties, not 4 large ones.
