I was pretty disappointed in myself because I gained, at the weigh in, 6lbs and wound up at 18 stone 4 lbs. So to make it clear, 20 days ago I was 17 stone and 12 lbs.
Before this weekend just gone I sneakily weighed myself to see how I was doing. I'm pretending that I don't weigh myself every day because I know this is a bad thing to do but I can't help myself. Anyway, when I weighed myself before the weekend I had lost a good bit more and was well below 17 stone 12 lbs.
I was feeling pretty good.
But then we drove up to Lancashire. It should have taken 5 hours, but the M6 northbound was completely closed by an accident in Staffordshire and so we went out on a limb and drove off into the wilds of Staffordshire where it is considered unmanly to have accurate road signs. We got a bit lost and I was driving quite wildly so Denise felt a bit travel sick. Eventually we made it back to the motorway, and I like to think it was still quicker than sitting in a queue of traffic, but the eventual journey took 7 hours.
At which point Denise and I decided that food was the answer. So we ate some food in a garden centre, then we had some food at the hotel we were staying at, and then we had some food in the restaurant with my parents.
We had a good time. But when we got back to the hotel, we both lay on the bed feeling stuffed to completion and like we shouldn't eat for a couple of days.
But then I continued to eat on Sunday on the journey home because I was quite tired and felt like I needed food to keep me going.
Today's weigh in.
I really want to be down to 17 stone 7lbs by the end of this month.
So maybe I shouldn't have baked a swiss roll and 4 ciabatta this morning (at least that's what they would like to be though the jury is out as to whether they can be classified as such)
