I only brought one pair of trousers and one pair of shorts on holiday with me. There's a washing machine and I thought I could alternate my lower body clothing arrangement.
But when I put on my shorts, it turned out that they were no longer elasticated and so they no longer stayed up. And once I had my wallet, phone and keys in my pockets the shorts moved south rapidly without pausing for coffee and a croissant at Watford Gap.
So I needed to wash my trousers after the swamp incident yesterday and I needed them dry before we went out today.
Cue torrential downpour this morning so they weren't drying on the washing line. Never mind, the washing machine is also a tumble dryer so it will all be fine.
Only when the trousers come out, still a bit damp because we need to get going, they don't seem to fit me as well as they did at the beginning of the week.
The tumble dryer has shrunk my trousers!
There is no other explanation.
On an unrelated note, I'm not entirely looking forward to the next weigh in. It is just possible I may have gained weight.
