Before I begin I need to share with you Kayleigh's career plans. Her first career of choice is to be a teacher. I tried to put her off, because I don't want her to develop stress-related grey hair before she is 30. She said,'But I want to take little children to their seats, and tell them to be quiet and do their writing,' and I soon established her intention was to teach primary children so I felt marginally better about this. Plus I still have another 18 years to talk her out of it.
Her second choice is to be a vet because Grandpa is a vet. And what better reason do you need than that? Aside from all the poo and wee and getting bitten and the blood and gore and fighting. And that's just the staff...ahahahahaha!
And career choice number 3? A carrot. Yup, you heard. A carrot. Not a parrot. A carrot. I didn't probe further. I am just practising my speech which begins,'This is my granddaughter Kayleigh. She is a carrot. It doesn't pay very well but it's steady work.'
Right - to business! Attention! Some of you may have visited Andy's get fit and slim in 365 days blog on the button to your right. If you haven't, you should and I shall tell you why. One, it is very funny. Andy does a very good line in comedy observations. Two, he is very brave. No way would I take a photo of myself first thing in the morning, well, not before all the creases have had a chance to drop out anyway. Also, there is no way I would photograph me on the scales. Although I am joining Andy on his journey by way of moral support because I am a bit of a chubster myself, I prefer the 'weightloss by silent stealth' approach. Sometimes my approach is so stealthy I startle myself. But Andy is like Braveheart - he is doing this blog loud and proud and painted blue, and in a kilt! I may be stretching the truth about the blue and kilt. Or I might not!!
And thirdly, he is doing it to raise funds for the PDSA. So if you fancy making a donation, just to add peer pressure to the pressure already being created by 'no cake in the house' just click on the button below which will take you in the flash of a bunny's bottom to the appropriate Virgin Giving page.
And thank you to Leane (Kayleigh the Trainee Carrot's Mum!) who has set the ball rolling today!
